What Is Proposition 65?
Proposition 65, officially known as the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, is a California law requiring businesses to provide warnings about potential exposure to certain listed chemicals.
These chemicals may be present in products, manufacturing materials, packaging, fuels, combustion by-products, or other components associated with outdoor cooking and heating products.
Why You May See This Warning
Products such as grills, outdoor cooking equipment, fire features, and related accessories may contain materials or produce combustion by-products that are included on the Proposition 65 chemical list.
Manufacturers provide these warnings to comply with California law.
